Life: A Refreshing and Vital Residential House

Bringing Nature and Fashion Together

With a tribute to the classics and the inspiration of Frank Owen Gehry's favorite fish and living plants, Shun-Yuan Chang has created a clear, refreshing, and vital space. This elegant and stylish home embraces the concept of Barrier Free Environment design, offering a beautiful vision of retirement life.

The uniqueness of this residential house lies in its ability to transform the space into a lively organism. By incorporating the growth of plants and the movement of fish, the designer has created a vivid and energetic atmosphere. The combination of fashionable design vocabulary and greenery results in a bright and clear living space that exudes a sense of metropolis.

The design also prioritizes accessibility and convenience through the implementation of the Barrier Free Environment concept. Elements such as entry and exit flow, aisles, and door panels have been carefully integrated to enhance the ease of use.

The realization of this design involves the use of innovative technology. The vegetation wall, which appears simple, utilizes the concept of Aquaponics and is seamlessly integrated into the wall with a stainless steel base. Attention has been given to water resistance, rust prevention, light, humidity control, and insulation. Additionally, a designed drain pan ensures easy cleaning. The fish pond below creates a connection with nature, providing a soothing and sensory experience for both body and soul.

The design encompasses a total area of 247 sqm and is located in Taipei, Taiwan. The project was completed in September, showcasing the designer's dedication and commitment to creating a unique and inspiring living space.

One of the main challenges of this design was to seamlessly integrate the concept of Aquaponics, symbolizing vitality, with the Barrier Free Environment design. The result is a space that reflects fashion, greenness, elegance, and convenience all at once.

This residential house is a true testament to the idea that a home is not just a physical structure, but a living and breathing entity. By infusing Western design elements with Eastern spirits, Shun-Yuan Chang has created a space that embodies life. The use of white as the main color, combined with nature-inspired marble patterns and elegant golden lines, adds a touch of elegance and warmth. The geometric design also incorporates Eastern thinking, further enhancing the uniqueness of this design.

This exceptional design has been recognized and awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious award acknowledges the practicality, innovation, and fulfillment provided by well-designed creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. Shun-Yuan Chang's design truly contributes to a better world.
